Finding a Good Paintball Supply Source

Both offline at hobby shops, and increasingly online, you will find a lot of great options for paintball supplies.

From locally owned mom & pop stores to big national chains, from mail order to the web, there are many vendors willing to compete for your paintball supply business.

In addition to paintball park fees, travel expenses, and so on, paintball does carry with it some financial costs besides your original equipment purchase. Ongoing paintball supply expenses include paintballs, CO2, cleaning supplies, and replacing equipment that breaks or wears out.

Paintballs are really just little gelatin bags that are filled with a dye, not paint. When it hits a target, it "splats", leaving a colored mark. Paintballs are water soluble and not poisonous.

The dye inside is really a food dye. As such, they're not really a very expensive item on your paintball supply list, but you will use A LOT of them during many games. So be sure to stock up before each weekend of fun.

CO2 cartridges are the most inexpensive way to power your paintball gun. However, they do have a few drawbacks, so you should balance the pros and cons with a nitro (compressed air) system. Either way, like paintballs themselves, it will be a constant paintball supply expense to replace used CO2 cartridges, or refill HPA (high pressure air) tanks.

Then of course, are the gun barrels, masks, and other items that won't be a steady expense, but that you will almost certainly want to upgrade from time to time with an order from a paintball supply house.
