How to Buy a Cheap Paintball Gun

Cheap paintball guns are plentiful, and for beginners they are often a good choice. Most new players will want to get into playing paintball with as little expense as possible.

Most paintball parks will have rentals available, but they may not be well maintained, and you never know if they will have any available or not. For this reason, a cheap paintball gun may be a better option.

Some important factors to consider before purchasing a cheap paintball gun are:

Durability - How well is this gun manufactured? What is its reputation among other players? Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it will automatically fall apart after a few uses, but some cheap paintball guns do.

Materials - Since your marker will be in constant use on the playing field, you should choose a metal gun rather than a plastic one. There should be no rattling of parts.

How it fires, also known as "action" - A cheap paintball gun typically has one of three types of actions - blow back, either hybrid or semi-automatic, and pump action. You need to test all three before making your decision, as they all function very differently, and will affect your play on the field.

On-field capability - Hopefully it goes without saying, but for new players, the gun should have a fairly fast firing rate, a long range capability between gun and target, and should aim accurately. A cheap paintball game will not necessarily perform well in all three areas, but try to find one with a good balance, that will help you take advantage of your playing strengths
